Moving stuff: part one

Today the boyfriend and I rented a trailer and stuffed most of my stuff that's in boxes into it and got it off to the house. Left in the flat are most of the furniture and all my clothes and the cats, but all will be moved next Saturday (exept for the sofa that's moving to my sister's place and some other stuff that will be off to a flea market) and then we officially live in the house :)
This week the bathrooms will be finished and the plumber will come and move all waterpipes into the garage and we'll have the dreamhouse we've worked so hard on all summer. Can't want to live there with my pussgurka <3
bathroom tiles are done, just some cementing left to be done
guest toilet was wallpapered by myself and the boyfriend and this tiny room took us four hours to complete :P But then again, we are not the most experienced in wallpapering but the end result is looking really good!

Alchemilla mollis on the wall

more recovery wallpaper was put up
the boyfriend and his brother put up our photowall of a Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla mollis) that I'd taken earlier this summer
and it turned out great!! (but please imagine a wooden floor there instead, it's not laid yet since the carpenters are not done yet in out house and we don't want them to scratch it
the electrician has been busy in the bathroom
Amazing how they can get it all together in the end with walls and wires and pipes
then the plumber came and took care of the water pipes
and floor heating was put in
and dry walls were put up
and my sister and I fought off some mildew in the washing room with vinegar (hence the mouth covers) and now things are starting to look brighter in there as well. Just gonna get some white paint on the walls in there and it will be a room fit for drying clothes once more.

Imagine

In a few weeks time we'll have a bathroom and will be able to actuallystart living in our house. Right now we have to go to the local supermarket when nature calls and I can't wait to be able to use our new lovley rooms!

I can totally imagine what it'll look like in my head, I just hope the end result is so much better than that anyways :P
Today we did the "bed side" of the bedroom and tomorrow we'll hopefully wrapp it all up in there with painting the closet doors and putting the radiator back up. Then the plan is to move lots of stuff in there so we can get started with the other rooms.
One more coat of paint will be added here and then the boyfriend will put in a new floor on Sunday :) Painting and wallpapering is fun coz you see the result! More to come soon...

Progress: we got a floor!

They've filled the big sand pit in our house that once was a bathroom and now it's actually starting to look like a floor again. In a few weeks someone will come and put up the walls and hopefully we'll get some electricity in there as well soon. Now the boyfriend and I will be busy with all the other rooms and hopefully we'll be efficient and all will be done once it's time to move in *fingers crossed*

I am quite fascinated about how they're gonna get it all together in the end :P
lots of pipes but no water...
walls are cracking coz of the tretex material we found underneath the wallpaper. Now we're gonna put really thick "recovery wallpaper" over it and hope for the best!
and in Båstad the poppies I've nursed since a tiny the were seeds are blooming :)

We're working on a pipeline (as Depeche Mode once sang)

The plumber was busy yesterday in our house! Old pipes out, new ones in and I have no clue about how they're gonna get it all together in the end but I can't wait to see the result :)
ancient pipes it seems
old pipes

the plumber had to dig to get things done!

Dirt!

The previous owner of our house wasn't very good at keeping the house clean... Dust is not a problem for me but other people's dirt that's stuck everywhere is just too disgusting :( We did tell her that she didn't have to clean that much since the carpenters were gonna get the place quite messy whilst being there there weeks and that she only should clean the kitchen extra well but did she do that? Noo... *sigh*
And one would expect her to at least clean the bedroom closets and the ceiling from spiderwebs but no, why bother doing that?! I am so tired of cleaning up her mess and I just wanna get started on painting and wallpapering instead and paint her away from our house! Hopefully that will happen soon.

most of the rubber paint is torn off and now we have to decide what to do with the wall...
there was this floralpattern tape on almost all the shelves in the kitchen and I
had to scrape it off with a sharp knife to get rid of it
the hallway floor was cut up by the carpenters to reveal the pipes from the bathroom and also revealed this 70's style floor underneath the woodfloor she'd put in a few years ago. But this is a nice excuse for us to get rid of the excisting floor and put tiles there instead! :)
bathroom floor is a sandpit at the moment!
two ugly rhododendron bushes are no more taking over the front door.
Other bushes will take their places eventually :)

So it has begun!

The little white brickhouse is now really ours and work has begun with getting it up to our standards ;)
The boyfriend and his brother tore down the bathroom and guest toilet to the foundation last weekend and this week the carpenters have chopped up the floor so new pipes can be laid and walls can be moved to make the bathroom bigger and guest toilet smaller.
Two guys have changed all the windows this week and now we're waiting for the last metal work to be done outside and then we can start cleaning up after them. It gets plenty messy when changing windows :P
But now it's all in motion and I can't wait to see what will happen with the bathroom from day to day once they really start working on that and see it grow into something so nice!
So far I've been busy peeling off wallpaper from a wall in our future bedroom + peeling off paint from a hideous wallpaper that I totally understand why the former owner painted over, but I just wonder what kind of shitty paint she's used coz I can pull it off and it's all rubbery :/

foundations...

floor is no more

"peel off" paint

new windows are in

and they look fantastic from the outside!

layers of wallpaper

window flannings and splines in place

to be continued...

Decisions decisions decisions...

In just 30 days the little house in Mellbystrand is officially ours and we have so many decisions to make before that. What bank to choose to get our houseloans from, what carpenter to do the renovations in the bathrooms, what kind of windows we should get for the whole house, what furniture we should get for the bathrooms, what kind of tiles and so on. Is it any wonder I feel so tired? Thankfully we know pretty much what we want, we just have to get it and find time to get it :P Everything will surely fall into place as time goes on, this I am sure of :)
tiles for the shower?
current windows, they are 40 years old!

for the bathroom?
