A greenhouse in the making

I've wanted to have a greenhouse for ages and ever since we moved to our house the thought has been in the back of my head about where to put it, what it would look like  and what I would grow in there. And now this dream is finally coming true!
My sister-in-laws sister-in-law told me that she had gotten her hands on a bunch of old windows and had the idea of making a greenhouse herself but never got the time to do it. So then she asked if I wanted them and all I had to do was to persuade the boyfriend that a greenhouse was a great idea and off we went to pick them up!

This unused part of the garden was the perfect location of the greenhouse!
The boyfriend did some really great blueprints, they were sent off to the building council to be approved and we went on with getting the grounds done with a little help from Tommy's digger and his paddingmachine.
Building material was ordered and the council finally approved the application BUT not without being assholes about where the border between us and the neighbours are. We assumed it was by their fence but the building inspector claims that the border is 8 cm off the fence, but he didn't mark the spot so how am I supposed to believe him that he is right? So, we were too close to our neighbours but they happily signed a paper saying it's OK that we're 8 cm too close to their land :P
Then we finally got around to build the stone foundation with leca blocks and the boyfriend helped me on the first and last layer, other than that I did all the brick work myself. It's not perfect, but definitely good enough and now we've finally started to get the wood frame on there as well.
It's dirty work to lay bricks :P
I will spend this winter renovating the windows and painting the door, then we'll hopefully get around to putting them in fairly early next year (just need to have painted the wooden frame white before that) and get the floor tiles collected from where they are now and then laid and we're good to grow :)
Hopefully the weather will be good on Sunday and then work continues! So excited!

Bye bye grass...

Apparently I took some time off for a few months (ie. I forgot to blog) but now I'm back and here we go again!
So, what's been going on? Well, we said goodbye to a part of our lawn and hello to lots of dirt, a pergola and lots of flowers and bushes :) I'm far from done but slowly getting there, just got a million other things going on right now :P but all fun stuff, so more to come soon!

The garden thru the year... June

June is cold and rainy and it's hard to believe that so many flowers are happy and blooming. I'm hoping for blue skies in July :)

Renovating again

When we bought this house we spent the whole summer before we moved in to renovate, new bathroom, guest toilet, new floors and new wallpaper and pain in almost every room, except for one... This passage/hallway was left coz the carpenters were moving a wall, drawing new water pipes, fixing the electrical cabinet and moving the water heater that was in this room for 40 years, and there's no drain here! Thank goodness that Nibe makes quality stuff :P
Well, now we finally have gotten around to fixing it and we started with tearing down the old wallpaper which was a horrible wood chip wallpaper and it revealed the horrible green wallpaper that also tore off in places.
A few weeks ago we did the floor with the boyfriend mixing the floor spackle and me pouring it out, and it's fab to finally have a  somewhat normal floor again after 1 1/2 years!
And today we put up renovation wallpaper and the room looks 10 times bigger with all that white! But we are far from done... Still have to paint some walls, another wallpaper is going up on two walls, a pvc carpet is going on the floor, splines are going up and hopefully we'll find a really good wardrobe solution at ikea and then we'll hopefully be done!
To be continued...
